How many people could say that they shot video from a blackhawk helicopter, interviewed the Governor and witnessed a life being saved in the same week? When you’re working as a news videographer you see all facets of life and your images tell the story.
You should know that the aforementioned week would be considered a highly eventful one, but still these are typical assignments for a news videographer.
Events I have covered as a News Videographer
Disarming an IED or improvised explosive device:This assignment began with a flight in a blackhawk helicopter from Albany, N.Y. to Camp Smith in Peekskill, N.Y. I shot video of our landing at the military installation of the New York Army National Guard. Throughout the day, I documented how soldiers at Camp Smith trained to disarm deadly explosives.
