In the 53rd Annual Grammy awards, which will take place on February 13, 2011, five dance songs are nominated for Best Dance Recording. These songs include Goldfrapp's "Rocket", "In for the Kill", by La Roux, Lady Gaga's "Dance in the Dark", Rihanna's "Only Girl (In the World)", as well as Robyn's "Dancing On My Own".
Most shocking about this year's category is that Enrique Iglesias' dance hit "I Like It" failed to garner a Grammy nomination, yet he was nominated in September of last year for an MTV VMA Award for Best Dance Video for "I Like It."
"Rocket" by Goldfrapp
In his June 2009 Rolling Stone interview, American Idol Season 8 runner-up winner Adam Lambert revealed that Goldfrapp is one of his favorite dance music groups. "Rocket" was a hit on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Songs, peaking at number one in May of 2010. This marks Goldfrapp's second Grammy nomination in this category - the previous nomination was in 2007 for smash hit "Ooh La La". For Goldfrapp, the nomination is the reward.
