FInding adventure areas in South Africa
There is no shortage in Southern Africa, of adrenaline sports of every kind: bungee jumping, white water rafting, mountain biking, abseiling, sky diving, kite surfing, dune skiing, surfing – and the ultimate – shark diving. In South Africa, most major tourist areas will offer several of these options within a close vicinity, although the biggest variety will be found around the Natal coastal area and the Western Cape region, from Cape Town, up the Garden route (incorporating Mossel Bay, George, Wilderness and Plettenberg bay).
Bungee jumping not just in New Zealand
New Zealanders may have invented it, but South Africa has taken bungee adrenaline to new heights. The best jump is from the Bloukrans bridge, just outside of Plettenberg Bay. This is the largest single span arched bridge in the world and the site of the highest commercial bungee jump, measuring a staggering 216m. Others in South Africa? Don’t bother. This is the ultimate. And it costs less than $100.
