The annual Oktoberfest has made Munich famous for beer, and that is reflected for the rest of the year in bars that strive to maintain the city's reputation. As such, finding a good bar is not difficult but here is a selection of some of the better ones.
Unionsbräu, 42 Einsteinstraße
This brewery and pub is next to the Max-Weber-Platz tube station. The upstairs is a restaurant and there is a beer hall in the cellar. The Unions-Bier Hell at 5% is a light, cloudy unfiltered lager, fairly basic in taste, not a lot of flavour but just a hint of bitterness that rescues it.
